Singaraja- Hundreds of teachers took part in the Teacher Professional Education (PPG) orientation in Phase IV 2019 Positions at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha). The teachers of various study programs are expected not only to be more professional, but also to have character. This was conveyed by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., when opening the event in the Rectorate’s Ganesha III Room, on Friday (6/9/2019).
The Chancellor of Jampel who was accompanied by Vice Chancellor I, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.TI said that character is very important to increase competitiveness, especially in an era of disruption. The teachers are not only sufficiently armed with academic abilities. “This is what I convey, These teachers must have good interpersonal skills. Must have character. No matter how smart you are, in mastering technology, if you don’t have character, you will lose. It will not be approved,” he said.
Undiksha makes the Tri Hita Karana philosophy the basis for building institutions. The philosophy that is universal in nature invites the entire academic community to establish good relations with God, with each other, and with the environment that PPG participants must also uphold. From this, a harmonious life will be born. “If this is really implemented, there will be harmonization. These teachers have to make it happen, “he said.
Particularly for the implementation of PPG, it is hoped that it can be followed optimally and be able to carve results as expected. The participants were also asked to show confidence in participating in the program at Undiksha which already holds A accreditation. “Also introduce Undiksha to the wider community,” he added.
