Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha), which has launched the Internationalization at Home program, continues to strive to increase the number of students from abroad. One of the steps taken is through collaboration with Indonesia Education Development (IED) which is one of the agents for international students. The collaboration signing took place at the Undiksha Rectorate, Thursday (20/10/2022).
The discussion on this collaboration was led by the Vice Rector for Academic and Cooperation of Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I. He was accompanied by the Postgraduate Director, Prof. Dr. I Gusti Putu Suharta, M.Si., and his staff. On this occasion, the possible collaboration between the two parties was discussed in detail.
After the meeting, Rasben Dantes conveyed this collaboration to increase the number of foreign students taking degree programs at Undiksha. This collaboration is a tit-for-tat to the Rector’s program, namely internationalization at home, launched in 2019. Undiksha is expected to become a learning home for the international community through this program.
The meeting with IED was to discuss further cooperation. Previously the collaboration had been running. Undiksha received 15 students from China to take the doctoral program in the Doctoral Program in Education Sciences. This program is expected to run successfully and smoothly. In addition, it is expected to continue in the following year. Likewise, for other programs. “Earlier, we also discussed the program in the future, including in the context that they will send master’s program students in Management Science and hopefully also to other study programs,” said Rasben Dantes.
Delivered further, IED also opened opportunities for Undiksha students to take short courses to learn Mandarin. This plan will be discussed more deeply regarding the quota number of students, financing, and others. “We hope that in the first semester, they will conduct learning, and in the following semester, we also hope to send our lecturers to discuss research topics and evaluate the learning process that has been going on for one semester,” he added.
Meanwhile, from the IED, Roden Xue Ruiteng stated that Undiksha is a university with good quality. He hopes that in the future, he can continue to collaborate and provide benefits for Indonesia and China. In the future, he also opened up opportunities for adding students from China to Undiksha.
Apart from the discussion, a collaboration was also signed between IED and the Postgraduate Director. Through this collaboration, the programs initiated are hoped to be realized soon. (hms)
