Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) does not only accelerate student achievements in competitions. However, it also increases the publication of SINTA-indexed scientific journals. To make this happen, one of them was carried out through quarantine of lecturers on 2 and 3 September 2019.
In the activity that took place in the Rectorate’s Ganesha II Room, Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., also gave directions. He said that currently, Undiksha has around 120 journals. Of these, only 22 are indexed by SINTA. Therefore, he encourages academics to be more productive. “Indeed, we hope that this year we can have one hundred of these journals which we are targeting to be indexed by SINTA,” he said.
Realizing this target, he said the Undiksha Journal and Publication Center continues to coordinate with the center regarding ongoing assistance. Increasing the number of journals, especially those included in the Scopus index, is not only important for lecturers. However, it is also able to raise the ranking of the university. Now, Undiksha is still in position 41 at the national level. In 2020, it is targeted to be ranked 30th. “This is something very important, because later the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education will rank journals that are SINTA accredited. This will determine the ups and downs of higher education cluster rankings,” he said.
The step taken by Undiksha, according to the Chancellor of Jampel, was also to support the accelerated achievement of journal publications targeted by the central government to reach 7 thousand. “Undiksha, if you can have 72 SINTA-indexed journals, it will be an extraordinary achievement. INn we continue to boost. It should be even better,” he added. (hms)
