Singaraja- Increasing legal knowledge is a serious concern for the Department of Law and Citizenship, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (FHIS) at Ganesha Education University (Undiksha). One of the ways this was done was through a public lecture by presenting the President Director of Sinar Mas, Dr. Ir. Hartana, S.H., M.H., M.M, Friday (5/4/2019). He delivered material on mining law and capital markets in Indonesia.
Dean of FHIS, Prof. Dr. Sukadi, M.Pd., M.Ed said that the public lecture which was attended by hundreds of students was part of the effort to improve the quality of education as stated in the vision, in addition to improving the quality of research and community service. “This is one of the efforts we are making to improve quality. “Inviting speakers from outside,” he said.
Delivered further, the presence of Dr. Property also not only provides students with an understanding of terrorism in the field of law. But there are also many practical things, especially those related to mining and the capital market. “In the field of education, we need to get knowledge that is not only terrorist but also practical from sources who have expertise, especially in the field of law,” he explained.
This department, which has two study programs, is not the first time it has held a public lecture featuring well-known speakers. At the end of 2018, there was also a guest speaker from the famous lawyer, Hotman Paris Hutapea. This event was flooded with participants, both students and the general public. “We have collaborated with several experts and practitioners to support increasing student knowledge,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hartana said that the opportunities in the world of work for mining law and capital markets in Indonesia are quite large. This is in line with potential. Management of this potential must be supported by reliable Human Resources (HR), starting from licensing and regulatory matters. “Law Department students can support this. Through this public lecture, it is hoped that you can prepare yourself earlier. “You can master knowledge well and can contribute to society, both companies and government,” he concluded. (hms)
