Ganesha University of Education continues to strive to improve the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (IKU). For the student affairs sector, not only achievement is being encouraged, but also entrepreneurship and start-ups. To support this, in the pre-2023 Program Development Coordination Meeting, Saturday (6/11/2021) a sharing was held which presented sources from professionals, Dr. Wisnu Sakti Dewobroto.
He conveyed that the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology encouraged students to have an economic and social impact. This means that students must be able to take innovative steps, one of which is by becoming entrepreneurs or creating start-ups. The entrepreneur in question does not only focus on selling products but is able to explore problems in society and provide solutions. “That’s actually what is expected from the entrepreneurship program,” he said.
Delivered further, in line with the Freedom to Learn Campus policy from the Ministry of Education and Culture, student involvement in entrepreneurial and start-up activities is an advantage. Because it can be done while studying or studying. Besides that, it can also be converted with Semester Credit Units (SKS) or used as a curriculum in learning.
To support the implementation of this program, according to him, universities must also be able to create an entrepreneurial-friendly environment. In addition, the university is no longer competition-oriented, but instead aims at collaboration, both with other universities, and industry, both locally, nationally, and internationally. (hms)
