Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) is increasing the capacity of the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence. This improvement was shown through training on Friday (3/2/2023).
This training presented the Daily Chairperson of P2TP2A Buleleng Regency, Made Rico Wibawa as a resource person. He said that sexual violence not only has the potential to occur directly in the community but also through information technology which is currently easily accessible.
He explained that sexual violence is an act with an element of coercion, for example, holding the hand of the opposite sex, which is not his will. Even according to him, using emoticons on digital platforms, both videos and images made by showing pornographic elements can potentially trigger sexual violence.
According to Rico Wibawa, those kinds of actions need to be anticipated. He also emphasized that efforts to prevent sexual violence are not only sufficient through educational institutions based on Permendikbud No. 30 of 2021 concerning Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence in the Higher Education Environment but are a joint obligation. “With the issuance of this Permendikbud (on Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence), we really hope for that. Those who play a role (preventing sexual violence) are not only Educational Institutions / Higher Education Institutions, but our joint obligations, “he said.
The Chairperson of the Undisksha Task Force for Prevention and Handling of Sexual, Dr. Made Sugi Hartono, S.H., M.H., conveyed this training to strengthen the capacity, duties and functions of the Task Force. Practical experience handling cases of sexual violence from resource persons is essential as material in carrying out Task Force duties and specifically in designing programs. “The questions that have been a doubt, an obstacle has been explained well so that the hope for the future after this training, the Undiksha Task Force for Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence can be stronger in preparing activity programs which of course with execute,” he said.
This training is the second activity designed and implemented by the Undiksha Task Force for Prevention and Handling of Sexual Task Force. The first activity is the preparation of the Prevention and Handling of Sexual modules for learning. After these two activities, socialization was carried out by the faculties. Since its establishment at the end of 2022, the Undiksha Prevention and Handling of Sexual Task Force has not received any complaints of sexual violence cases in the campus environment. “We hope sexual violence will not occur on campus,” added Sugi Hartono.
The training was opened by Undiksha’s Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Public Relations, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd. He appreciated this activity and hoped that the Undiksha Prevention and Handling of Sexual Task Force could work optimally in the future, including in the socialization of sexual violence prevention.
