Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) continues to spur quality improvement to strengthen competitiveness. This effort is expected to receive full support from all lines, both at the level of units, study programs, and faculties/postgraduates. This statement was conveyed in the Management Review Meeting of Undiksha Academic Internal Quality Audit or Audit Mutu Internal (AMI) Results for 2022 in the Undiksha Postgraduate Seminar room, Tuesday (13/12/2022).
The meeting, which was attended by Deans, Heads of Departments, and Coordinators of Study Programs in Undiksha, was to convey information from the results of AMI conducted by PJM Undiksha. The Head of Undiksha Quality Assurance Center, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Kanca, M.S., said that based on the audit results, several things were improved by Undiksha, especially matters related to academics, such as student input standards, graduate standards, and student activity standards. “For example, the standard GPA of 3.00 students is increased to 3.25 for S1 and D3. For postgraduate and doctoral students, it can be increased from 3.25 to 3.50 to be graduated. That is one example of increasing the GPA standard for student graduation,” he explained.
The aspect of infrastructure that supports the learning process, according to Kanca, also needs to be considered to follow the maximum standards in accordance with the national and international standards criteria. “So that the learning process will be guaranteed, becomes more qualified, and graduates also become more qualified,” he said.
Apart from several suggestions, Kanca assessed Undiksha’s quality improvement efforts had gone well. This quality improvement was indicated by the increasing number of A and superior accredited study programs. “In the future, it will increase even more. The competitiveness of study programs and universities can be seen from the results of accreditation or accreditation status, both from BAN-PT and LAMDIK and other LAM,” he added.
Meanwhile, Undiksha’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., who represented the Rector, said that management review is an integral part of the internal quality assurance system. This review is very important to provide an overview of aspects that need improvement or achievements that need improvement. “In this review meeting, we are together with the leaders, both university leaders, faculties, study programs, and all friends from the quality control group to see together the standards or indicators that we have not been able to achieve, which we have been able to achieve, and also those that have exceeded the standards,” he said.
Through this opportunity, he invited the faculty/postgraduate, department, and study program leaders to follow up on the findings delivered by PJM jointly. In the future, Undiksha’s quality is expected to improve. “And I am sure the commitment of all friends, the togetherness that has been built, in the future we can do greater things. I also hope to improve our quality to be able to produce superior human resources in the future,” said Rasben Dantes.
He also said that the results presented at this meeting will be discussed in a leadership meeting at the university level to further serve as a foothold for implementing activities or programs in 2023 and 2024. (hms)
