Singaraja- Chancellor of Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha), Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd has appointed three deputy chancellors (warek) who will accompany him in building the institution for the 2019-2023 period. Namely, Dr. I Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., as Deputy Chancellor I. He replaced Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Arnyana, M.Si., who previously served as Deputy Dean I of the Technical and Vocational Faculty (FTK). Vice Chancellor II is still entrusted to Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., and Vice Chancellor III is entrusted to Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd. He previously served as Director of Postgraduate Studies at Undiksha, replacing Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pujawan, M.Kes. Meanwhile, the post of Postgraduate Director was entrusted to Prof. Dr. I Gusti Putu Suharta, M.Sc. The inauguration and oath-taking of the four officials took place in the Ganesha III Room of the Rectorate, on Wednesday (12/6/2019).
Chancellor Prof. Jampel after the inauguration revealed that the selection of warek was carried out with various considerations and was thought through carefully. It is hoped that there will be the same commitment to building institutions, including accelerating the realization of Undiksha’s vision as a superior university based on the Tri Hita Karana philosophy in Asia by 2045. “I hope that everything can take Undiksha in a better direction. Can realize strategic plans, medium-term development plans, and Renop. Including realizing the vision. It could be faster,” he said.
In his first term of office, 2015-2019, Jampel said various breakthroughs had been made in improving the quality of the institution. Starting from the declaration of the year of accreditation, year of publication, year of information technology, and year of internationalization at home. In the next four years or the 2019-2023 period, he as the chancellor of the largest university in North Bali has carried the vision of realizing a superior Undiksha based on Tri Hita Karana through internationalization and a trend center university.
Supporting this, a strategy has been prepared. In 2019-2020, it was declared the year of the reputable international university. The program is to develop a KKNI-based curriculum with international recognition and improve the quality and quantity of international research, international publications, and international conferences. Apart from that, there is also the development of internationally standardized infrastructure, reforming democratic, humanist, and collaborative higher education governance based on ubiquitous services with the use of modern information technology. It is no less important to strengthen and improve human resources, both staff and lecturers who have international recognition.
Meanwhile, 2021-2023 is declared the year of the trend center university. The program makes Undiksha a reference and role model for national learning. Apart from that, there is also the development of research that has become a national and international reference, developing downstream research results based on industrial world targets and social engineering role models, making Undiksha a publication reference with a high indexation of individuals and institutions. Strengthening human resources is also still a concern this year. It is also targeted to become a national reference. In the midst of increasingly fierce competition, the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) has also been developed. “This is what we have to do and needs the support of all stakeholders,” he said.
The number of warek this time is different from the previous one which was up to IV. This is because it refers to the organization and work procedures (OTK) of the institution. The number of warek is adjusted to the student body or number of students. “If in the future there is a need for warek IV, we will try to propose it,” added Jampel.
Meanwhile, Rasben Dantes is committed to carrying out his mandate as vice chancellor in charge of cooperation and academics. He wants Undiksha to be able to become a home for the entire international community. Not only formal fields but also non-formal ones. “We want people abroad to be able to learn about culture. “You can learn about lontar and digitalization,” he explained. According to him, improving the accreditation of study programs is also a very important thing to receive attention. “All study programs that are still accredited B can be upgraded to A. Those that are already A can be accredited internationally. “Scientific publications also need to be boosted,” he added.
Vice-Rector, Prof. Lasmawan also emphasized a similar commitment. “I handle general administration, finance, planning, and human resources. That’s a challenge. Along with the trust given, my astungkara can answer it with work and work. “In accordance with the oath of office,” he stressed. Prof. Literature and Prof. Ngurah Suharta. Both agreed to support the development of Undiksha so that it becomes an increasingly competitive higher education institution.(HMS)
