Singaraja- The inauguration of the Board of Management of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) Alumni Family Association (IKA) for the 2020-2023 period took place, Tuesday (27/10/2020). The new board of directors expressed their commitment to support the implementation of the program launched by the alma mater, especially with regard to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education which concerns education and teaching, research, and community service.
This time the inauguration was carried out through an external network at the Undiksha Auditorium which was attended by the core management. Meanwhile, other members watching through the network. The management structure was read out by the Head of the Academy, Student Affairs, Planning and Cooperation Bureau, Drs. I Made Yasa. The chairperson position was again entrusted to Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd, who also serves as Chancellor of Undiksha. In his remarks, Prof. Jampel hopes that this organization can carry out work programs that are getting better in the future. In addition to being able to become an organization that can be emulated by other organizations. “This organization is an extraordinary organization. Because its members are intellectually intelligent people and have Ganesha characters. Therefore, we hope this organization can be an example for other organizations,” he said.
Delivered further, as a form of commitment to support the alma mater program, IKA Undiksha has carried out a number of activities that directly touch the community. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, assistance related to Covid-19 prevention was distributed, such as masks, hand sanitizers, personal protective equipment for medical workers, and sinks in a number of villages. Apart from that, it also distributes groceries to underprivileged communities spread across a number of villages. “We at IKA and Undiksha have held many activities. We always see how small activities can speed up the process of stopping the spread of Covid-19. Funds for procuring aid are donations from alumni,” he said.
Another community service program is assisting teachers in improving learning content to maximize the implementation of online learning. “We also have a program related to dedication in handling the social and psychological impacts of the community as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. We design a work program related to the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana which is the basis for realizing Undiksha’s vision of becoming a superior university in Asia in 2045,” he explained. Jampel also hopes that in the future there will be a national working meeting to formulate a program with a wider reach. (hms)
