Singaraja- The achievements of the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) tennis team did not stop at first place in the Education Personnel Education Institute (LPTK) Cup event which took place at Padang State University (UNP) West Sumatra. But he also managed to win third place in the Java-Bali championship at Surabaya State University (Unesa) in the 55th-anniversary series.
The competition for the IX Chancellor’s trophy took place from 9 to 14 December 2019. Undiksha, which was participating for the first time, tried to perform optimally by fielding I Ketut Budaya Astra – I Ketut Yoda, I Kadek Happy Kardiawan – Made Agus Dharmadi, and I Wayan Artanayasa – I Ketut Iwan Swadesi. All of them are educators in the Faculty of Sports and Health. Appearing confidently, this team was able to get rid of a number of prestigious teams from the Java and Bali regions. “This event is for the public. There were 16 teams participating. We are still grateful that Undiksha, which is participating for the first time, was able to win third place,” said the team manager, I Made Satyawan after conveying this achievement to the Chancellor, I Nyoman Jampel in his office, Monday (12/16/2019).
He, who was also present with I Kadek Happy Kardiawan and I Wayan Artanayasa, admitted that in that match he had to meet a tough team. However, his optimism to become a champion remains firmly planted. “In the game, we are always optimistic. In this event, the first winner was won by PLN and the second winner by Unesa,” he said. Participation in this prestigious event is also used as preparation for the next match. “After this, we will continue to prepare. One of them is to compete in the LPTK Cup in two years,” he added.
The Chancellor of Jampel gave a thumbs up for this achievement, including in the LPTK Cup event. “For the LPTK Cup, Undiksha has been waiting for a champion for a long time. This time, we won first place. At Unesa, he won third place. This is an extraordinary achievement and should be appreciated,” he said. Undiksha’s position at the national level, especially in sports competitions, has been taken into account. It is hoped that this will further trigger and spur the Undiksha team to make more achievements. “I feel proud in this second position, many achievements have been made by students and lecturers.
