Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha inaugurated 17 professors in a series of 30th Anniversary. The inauguration was held on January 18 and 19, 2023.
This inauguration was very special because the number of professors is much more than before. In addition, there is also a young professor. He is Prof. Dr. I Wayan Widiana, S.Pd., M.Pd, who is 37 years old. This academician from Karangasem became a professor in Basic Education Science and Evaluation and the first professor in the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program.
In addition, Prof. Dr. Ketut Agustini, S.Si., M.Si became the only female professor inaugurated in Informatics Education Technology. Meanwhile, the other 15 professors are Prof. Dr. I Gede Budasi, M.Ed with Linguistics, Prof. Dr. I Putu Sriartha, M.S with Geography, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Muderawan, M.S with Chemistry, Prof. Dr. I Made Pageh, M.Hum with Historical Studies, Prof. Dr. Gde Artawan, M.Pd with Indonesian Literature, and Prof. Dr. Gede Adi Yuniarta, S.E., Ak., M.Si with Economics. Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Dewa Gede Hendra Divayana, S.Kom., M.Kom., with Measurement and Evaluation of Informatics Education, Prof. Dr. I Putu Wisna Ariawan, M.Si with Research and Evaluation of Mathematics Education, Prof. Dr. Dewa Bagus Sanjaya, M.Si with Measurement and Evaluation of Citizenship Education, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Made Astawa, M.Si with Geography Education, and Prof. Dr. I Dewa Ketut Sastrawidana, S.Si., M.Si with Environmental Chemistry. Next is Prof. Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, S.Pd., M.Pd with Vocational Education Measurement and Evaluation, Prof. Dr. Ketut Agustini, S.Si., M.Si with Informatics Education Technology, Prof. Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pujawan, M.Kes with Mathematics Education Research and Evaluation, Prof. Dr. Drs. I Ketut Sudiana, M.Kes with Environmental Health Science, and Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I with Information Systems / Information Technology.
Confirmed after the inauguration, Prof. I Wayan Widiana said the achievement to achieve this professor position was inseparable from the support of various parties, both Undiksha leadership, family, and colleagues. The man born in 1985 admitted that since childhood, he had hopes or aspirations for a career at the highest functional level. “My future target is to develop knowledge in the field of thinking skills, especially in elementary schools, and I hope to develop special thinking skills, the ability to think harmoniously,” he said. “Don’t be afraid to try, don’t be afraid not to be accepted but be sure that if we do it carefully and then examine it from various aspects, I’m sure the proposal will be accepted,” he said.
Meanwhile, Undiksha Rector, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., congratulated these new professors. He also appreciated their enthusiasm and commitment to submitting proposals to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. “I targeted 15 professors by 2022, but we have 17,” he said.
In 2025, Undiksha targets to have 100 professors. This is to fulfill the requirements to lead to a State University with Legal Status (PTN-BH). Therefore, Rector Jampel encouraged lecturers who are Head Lecturers and have met the criteria to submit proposals immediately. “With the current number of professors, we can run fast now. I am sure that the additional 17 professors will accelerate Undiksha to achieve its goal of becoming a leading University based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy in Asia by 2045. We can achieve this if we can 10 or 15 years faster,” he concluded. (hms)
