Jakarta- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Program Development and Determination of Budget Allocations for 2024 in Jakarta from 2 to 4 December 2022. Through this annual agenda, Undiksha determines five priority programs to be realized to achieve several targets, one of which is to become a State University with a Legal Entity or Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Berbadan Hukum (PTN-BH).
The FGD, which was opened by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Cooperation of Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., MTI, was attended by Vice Rectors, Heads of Bureaus, Heads of Institutions, and Heads of faculties/postgraduates, SPI, and SP4. In the presentation of the Undiksha Rector, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., delivered by Vice Rector Rasben Dantes regarding the issues and directions for the development of higher education which are at the same time still a challenge, namely strengthening the quality and relevance of higher education, strengthening the quality of lecturers and education staff, strengthening the management system of the Directorate General Higher Education, and digital reform in all aspects of education services.
These four things become Undiksha’s reference in program preparation and operational implementation in 2024. The program, namely strengthening Human Resources, infrastructure, curriculum, student bodies, and character education. These five programs are an effort to answer achievement targets, namely Undiksha becoming a PTN-BH, international accreditation, and Freedom to Learn-Independent campus or Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). Apart from that, it can also increase the achievement of Higher Education Key Performance Indicators or Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU) and realize Undiksha as an International Reputable University in Education and Leadership (IRUEL).
In particular, Undiksha also seeks to improve the quality of governance in each field, both in the academic and collaboration, planning, finance, human resources, and student affairs fields. These designed strategic steps are expected to accelerate the realization of Undiksha’s vision, namely to Become a Leading University Based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy in Asia by 2045.
As a developing university, Undiksha has won various achievements at the national level. In 2022, Undiksha was ranked 35th in Indonesia and first for universities in Bali in the webometrics ranking. In 2021 and 2022, Undiksha was ranked 11th nationally in the Scimago Institution Ranking. In 2022, based on the 2021 IKU achievement data, Undiksha was 8th of 33 PTN Public Service Board. In addition, in 2021, Undiksha received the first-best award for Budget Work Value and the third-best for the Government Agency Performance Accountability System. Students also made other achievements at national and international levels.
On this occasion, Rasben Dantes also delivered a message from the Rector, I Nyoman Jampel, who would end his second term in April 2023. The message was that the Undiksha academic community always maintains the togetherness and harmony that has been building at this time. In addition, it continues to improve to make Undiksha a leading and competitive university. It is always able to produce superior human resources who have good competence and also have a strong character. (hms)
