Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to expand foreign cooperation. The most recent was done with Ming Chi University of Technology, Taiwan. The discussion took place in the Rectorate’s Ganesha I Room, on Monday (9/9/2019). This collaboration is one of the strategies to improve the quality of education and Human Resources (HR).
From Ming Chi University of Technology, represented by the Director of the Center of International Affairs, Cieh-Lan Li, Ph.D. He explained that his university had collaborated with many universities abroad, including those in Indonesia. This is also shown through testimonials via videos. “There’s been a lot of cooperation. The students are in various study programs,” he said.
Collaboration is expected to be established with Undiksha which has a number of the same study programs. As well as engineering, art, and economics. His party offered that cooperation could be in the form of a double degree (bachelor + master), research, summer language, and cultural camps. It is also hoped that this will be operational in 2020. His party is also ready to provide assistance in terms of facilities. “We want this program to run next year,” he added.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., stated that this collaboration was important to forge. This is not only to improve student competency. But also to support the internationalization program at home which was launched in 2019. “Of course with this declaration, we also want foreign people to come to Undiksha. It could also be an exchange of lecturers or visiting professors,” he said.
The education applied by Ming Chi University of Technology is also considered very good. As an example, the lecture time in class is only one year. The rest of the students take part in internships at companies or industries according to their fields. “Here they learn more. This is good,” he said. Undiksha’s desire to establish cooperation is also because the university is among the prestigious ranks in the world. (hms)
