Singaraja- The Badung Regency Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA) has looked at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) as a collaborative partner in efforts to improve the quality of education. This was discussed in the hearing, Thursday (25/5/2023).
This audience was attended by the Head of Badung Regency BRIDA, Dr. I Wayan Suambara, S.H., M.M. was accompanied by his staff. His presence was received directly by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., accompanied by the Deputy Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Public Relations and Alumni, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., and Head of Finance and General Affairs Bureau, Ni Luh Wayan Yasmiati, S.H., M.Pd.
At this meeting, the Head of BRIDA Badung Regency, Suambara said that in accordance with the main tasks and functions, BRIDA is obliged to collaborate with various parties, both local governments, the business world as well, including universities in order to optimize performance. “Therefore, we have built partnerships with various tertiary institutions in Denpasar and almost all of them, and today we made a visit to Undiksha,” he explained.
After the meeting, he said there were a number of things discussed regarding future collaboration opportunities. One of them is about steps in improving the quality of education. This field is very relevant to Undiksha which has the status of one of the Education Personnel Education Institutions (LPTK) in Indonesia. Besides that, education is becoming the core of Undiksha.
Furthermore, Suambara said that education is fundamental thing for regional development and advancing society. Therefore, he hopes that this field can be managed better in the future through collaboration with Undiksha, especially related to the master plan for educational development.
On this occasion, he also supported the downstream of research products conducted by Undiksha academics in Badung Regency to improve people’s welfare. Therefore, his party wanted to get an inventory of research activities as study material.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Lasmawan positively welcomed the offer of cooperation from BRIDA Badung. He conveyed that currently, Undiksha has established research collaborations with a number of Regional Governments in various fields. “We are very open to assistance services and cooperation with the local government. With several Regional Governments it has been built,” he said.
Apart from the education sector, Undiksha is also open to implementing other collaborations in order to support regional progress. This is because Undiksha, which has the status of an LPTK, also organizes various fields of non-educational studies. (hms)
