Singaraja- Postgraduate Education University of Ganesha (Undiksha) continues to maximize the implementation of online learning, including preparing the tools. This is one of the strategies to increase the student body in the future. This was conveyed by the Director, Prof. Dr. I Gusti Putu Suharta, M.Si on the sidelines of the stabilization activities which presented speakers from the Head of the Undiksha Online Learning Center, Dr. I Gde Wawan Sudatha, S.Pd., S.T., M.Pd, Tuesday (17/9/2019).
Currently, online learning has been carried out for 50 percent of courses. This is highly appreciated because lecturers have taken innovative steps in the midst of increasingly fierce competition and the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. However, his party continues to make efforts to increase it, so that later it can reach at least 75 percent. “We continue to strengthen this so that in the future it will be even better. Included in the learning device, it will be included in one system,” he explained.
Undiksha has the status of an East Indonesia Education Personnel Education Institution (LPTK). With maximum online learning, the reach will be expanded and able to trigger the interest of the national community. “With this learning, Undiksha will be able to become a reference for Central and Western Indonesia as well. We can be more competitive at the national level,” he said.
Meanwhile, Undiksha Chancellor, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd said that to support online learning, the facilities have been improved, especially the network. However, lecturers are asked to continue to innovate, one of which is in the learning model. “Lecturers can make learning content in the form of videos,” he explained. Delivered further, Undiksha has implemented 100 percent of online learning for Teacher Professional Education (PPG) and 50 percent for Personality Development Courses (MPK). According to the evaluation, the results are not inferior to face-to-face learning. “If this learning is managed properly, the results are very good. Abroad many are implementing. We at Undiksha continue to push it. For Postgraduate, we ask for a minimum of 75 percent implementation. Our human resources are also not lost. I dare say so,” he said.
It is hoped that the breakthrough taken by the tertiary institution with eight faculties will not only be able to improve the quality of students but also make the institution a national trend center which has become the chancellor’s vision. “In my vision as a chancellor, I want to make Undiksha a Trend Center. Online learning is one of the supports,” he added. In addition to the postgraduate program, the Undiksha Faculty of Languages and Arts also continues to strengthen learning through workshops by presenting speakers from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education.
