Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to strive to improve the quality of services in the information technology sector. This is not only supported by Human Resources (HR) who are qualified in their fields. Moreover, it also pursues the implementation of an international standard quality management system ISO 9001: 2015. One of them is in the Technology, Information, and Communication Technical Implementation Unit (UPT-TIK). The audit will be carried out online from 25 to 27 July 2022.
This event was opened by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation of Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I. He, who represented the Chancellor, said that UPT ICT was the second unit that wanted to implement ISO 9001:2015 at Undiksha. “After last year it was carried out by the FTK who thank God it has been certified,” he explained.
This step is one of the commitments from the Chancellor that an organization must not turn a blind eye to the development of information and communication technology in order to carry out activities or operational activities to increase the competitiveness of an organization. “In 2018, during the leadership of the Chancellor, he put one milestone which is very important for Undiksha, which is related to the focus on information and communication technology. So in leadership, he wants that there are no more sectoral systems and all are integrated into a container managed by the Technology, Information, Communication Technical Implementation Unit and that is also contained in the work organization of Undiksha,” he said.
Delivered further, currently, Undiksha already has a number of information systems in its operational framework, both academic and non-academic. “And currently Undiksha continues to improve to become one of the universities that must betrend setter university and also reputable university,” said Rasben Dantes.
It is expected that the application of an international standard quality management system ISO 9001:2015 will have an impact on improving the quality of service to the public, both internally at Undiksha and the public externally. “Because many of the systems developed by UPT ICT also serve people outside Undiksha. Whether it’s acceptance of new students, validation of diplomas, transcripts, and so on, the aim is to make it easier for the public to get services from Undiksha,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Auditor, Poernomo Amiprodjo explained that this audit is to review the capability and effectiveness of the management system in ensuring continuous compliance with customer, legal and regulatory requirements in meeting the specified objectives. In addition, it is also to review the achievement of the desired results from the organization’s management system, to review the suitability of the management system with the stated criteria, as well as to verify improvements to previous audit results.
