Singaraja– The Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to strive to improve the quality of learning. To support this, one of the ways is by providing Training of Tutor (TOT) Management of Clinical Skills Assessment Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) to lecturers, Thursday (24/10/2019). The training, which was held in the Undiksha Faculty of Medicine’s Multipurpose Room in Jinengdalem, presented two speakers from Udayana University.
The two sources, dr. Made Agus Hendrayana, M.Ked. and dr. Ida Ayu Dewi Wiryanthini, M.Biomed. Both of them provided training on Clinical Skills Assessment for 20 FK teaching staff and 24 teaching staff from the Buleleng District Hospital.
Chairman of the Committee, Dr. dr. Made Kurnia Widiastuti Giri, S.Ked., M.Kes., said that the Faculty of Medicine, which had only been established for two years, really needs references in order to improve the quality of learning which will also have an impact on improving the quality of students. “We want these two sources to be able to share their experiences,” she said.
Deputy Chancellor I Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T. M.TI., who opened the event hoped that from this activity, lecturers would gain insight and knowledge about the OSCE assessment from Udayana Faculty, which incidentally has produced many medical graduates. “As one of the newest faculties at Undiksha, assistance for lecturers regarding the management of a good assessment system really needs to be done,” he explained.
Apart from being for lecturers, this OSCE is also very important for students, especially in semesters I and III who will be taking exams in the near future. “This is important to provide skills for students who will later provide clinical services for the community,” said Rasben. The official who once served as Deputy Dean I of the Undiksha Faculty of Engineering and Vocational (FTK) also hopes that learning content in FK can be carried out in the form of Augmented Reality, which gets a touch of technology. “Implementation of this activity does not mean that lecturers cannot carry out OSCE assessments, but here we need how to equate perceptions so that later on OSCE has a standard or structured form,” he concluded.
