Singaraja- Dozens of lecturers at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) received awards for their success in completing their doctoral studies. Lecturers in various study programs are expected to be followed by lecturers who still have master’s qualifications in an effort to increase university competitiveness. This was conveyed by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd after the apple commemoration of the 27th Anniversary, Tuesday (14/1/2020). “Our program is to make all lecturers qualified as doctors. Therefore, I conveyed to Vice Chancellor I, every year we have to send around 25 lecturers for further studies,” he said.
Regarding further studies, said the Chancellor who was born in 1959, the funding can be through scholarships which are quite widely available from the central government. Even if there are those who don’t get it, the university tries to provide funding assistance. “With this study, what is targeted will be quickly fulfilled,” he explained.
The increase in the number of Associate Professors is also a serious concern. Currently, the number is only 127 people. Likewise with professorships, which currently number 44 people. To support the increase in numbers, Undiksha has formed a special team, which is engaged in providing assistance for each proposal. “This team plays a role, providing input on what needs to be prepared. Included in the article,” he added.
Especially of the lecturers who were awarded, most of them completed their doctoral studies at domestic and well-known universities in 2019. They also received the title of very satisfying and the title of praise. Based on the latest data, there are 169 lecturers with doctoral educational qualifications and 311 masters. The event also included the presentation of awards and medals to the winners of various types of competitions.
