The Regent of Buleleng, Agus Suradnyana expressed his appreciation to Undiksha for implementing the protocol to prevent the spread of Covid-19 as one of the UTBK implementers. “We’ll see what Undiksha has done using the protocol. We appreciate this,” said Agus Suradnyana.
The Regent from Banyuatis Village, Banjar District, Buleleng stated that the protocol implemented by Undiksha was a form of implementing a new normal (new order) in people’s lives. Therefore, it is hoped that other tertiary institutions will be able to participate in the acceptance of new students and the implementation of learning. “Everything is basically towards a new normal. We now see that the exams are going well, and everything is in order. Those who drive do not enter. This provides inspiration for all of us at the college level. This can be used as an example,” he said.
The same thing was also conveyed by Ibn Alkhatab. The implementation of the exam at this superior accredited university is supported by adequate infrastructure. “We appreciate the implementation because it uses a strict protocol, there is a hand sanitizer, and checks body temperature. The implementation also went smoothly, supervisors wore complete PPE, “he explained.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyomam Jampel, M.Pd., explained that the UTBK in this first phase at Undiksha took place from 5 – 9 July 2020. The implementation was carried out by prioritizing the Covid-19 prevention protocol. The number of examinees at Undiksha reached 1,527 people. The exam is divided into two sessions per day with around 320 participants. There are ten computer labs that are utilized, spread across the Language and Arts Faculty, the Engineering and Vocational Faculty, the Economics Faculty, and the Information and Communication Technology Technical Service Unit.
The implementation of the Covid-19 prevention protocol starts with the arrival of the participants. All of them are required to wash their hands, use a hand sanitizer, check their body temperature, prohibit the introduction of test participants to the campus area, require participants to wear masks, and maintain social distancing (social and physical distancing). “We do this to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” he said.
In accordance with the implementation instructions issued by the Higher Education Entrance Institute (LTMPT), UTBK session 1 starts at 9.00 – 11.15 WITA, and session 2 starts at 14.00 – 16.15 WITA. Meanwhile, a time lag of 2 hours and 45 minutes is used to sterilize the room. “For Undiksha, the main priority in implementing the UTBK 2020 is the health and safety of the participants and also the organizing committee so the Covid-19 prevention protocol is really a top concern,” he explained.
In this exam, the room capacity was only 50 percent. Seats for potential participants are given a distance of 1.5 meters as the implementation of physical distancing. In addition, supervisors who interact with participants specifically use complete Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
In the midst of carrying out the exam, the Chancellor of Jampel also issued a policy for employees who are not members of the temporary work-from-home (BDR) committee. This is to reduce the number of people on campus. In order to ensure readiness for the implementation of the exam, previously Undiksha also held a simulation which was attended by the Task Force Team for the Acceleration of the Prevention of Covid-19 for Bali Province and Buleleng Regency, as well as the Undiksha Covid-19 Task Force Team.
