Singaraja– Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) formed a consortium for the revitalization of Education Personnel Education Institutions (LPTK), especially in the implementation of Teacher Professional Education (PPG) with six universities in Bali and Nusa Tenggara (Nusra). The signing of the collaboration took place online, Thursday (19/5/2022).
The six universities are PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia University, Dwijendra University, IKIP Saraswati Tabanan, Indonesian Catholic University Santo Paulus Ruteng, University of Flores, and Widya Mandiri University, Kupang.
Undiksha Deputy Chancellor for Academic and Cooperation Affairs, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., said that in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 and the Free Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) paradigm, academic institutions must collaborate in carrying out activities, both in the fields of education and teaching, research, and community service as the essence of producing graduates who are qualified, competent, and has Indonesian character. Likewise, with the implementation of PPG in the future, it is hoped that the quality will be even higher in order to create superior teachers who will then be able to produce superior Human Resources (HR) as well. “I’m sure we all have the same commitment how to produce superior teachers in the future so that this generation of Indonesia can be better. I think that is one of the essences of revitalizing PPG LPTKs,” he said.
Delivered further, in line with this consortium, there are various activities that can be designed to be proposed to the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemnedikbudristek), such as proposing study programs for tertiary institutions that do not yet have, adding prospective fields of study according to sources. human resources owned by each institution. In addition, increasing the capacity and capability of LPTKs in the context of implementing PPG, and increasing cooperation in implementing PPG in the vocational or special vocational fields that are collaborative to work with the business world and the industrial world. Finally, improving the quality of learning from PPG in the digital era we are currently facing. “These are a number of programs that we can do in order to strengthen PPG implementation,” said Rasben Dantes.
This consortium received appreciation from other universities. It is hoped that Undiksha can provide experience in the management and implementation of PPG and other matters in order to improve the quality of teachers. (hms)
