Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) received a visit from Universiti Teknologi Mara Cawangan Pulau Penang Malaysia (UiTM Mara Malaysia), on Thursday (31/8/2023). This visit was in order to discuss international cooperation in the field of education and teaching.
At the meeting which took place in the Ganesha I Room of the Undiksha Rectorate, those present from UiTM Mara Malaysia were the Head of Study Center, College of Electrical Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Nor Azlan Othman and Head of Study Center, Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fadzil Ariffin. His presence was received by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Cooperation of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational Studies, Dr. Dr. Kadek Rihendra Dantes, S.T., M.T along with the staff and a number of lecturers from the Undiksha Hospitality Management D4 Study Program.
At this meeting, the two universities both gave positive responses to the collaboration they wanted to establish. Undiksha, as explained by Deputy Chancellor Rasben Dantes, continues to strive to improve the quality and competitiveness of universities through expanding foreign cooperation in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely Education and Teaching, Research, and Community Service. This is at the same time to strengthen the implementation of the Free Learning-Free Campus (MBKM) policy issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.
In particular, programs in the field of Education and teaching carried out by Undiksha with Universities Abroad, such as student exchanges, lecturer exchanges, teaching practice, and summer camps. In addition, there is also a premium program in the form of a fast track. “We hope this collaboration can be implemented with UiTM Mara Malaysia. Including also for the field of research,” he said.
The cooperation discussed in this meeting is still more focused on the field of hotel management and technology. Rasben Dantes hopes that in the future there will be cooperation for other fields that adjust to the availability of fields of study and human resources.
Meanwhile, UiTM Mara Malaysia expressed appreciation to Undiksha for opening the opportunity to collaborate. It is hoped that this collaboration can be carried out properly and can provide benefits for each university.
Apart from discussing collaboration, this event was also arranged with a public lecture with Undiksha student participants. (hms)
