Denpasar– Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) is holding two international conferences at the Grand Inna Bali Beach Hotel, Denpasar, on Friday (20/9/2019). Namely the International Conference on Innovative Research Across Disciplines (ICIRAD) and the International Conference on Physical Education, Sport and Health (ICoPESH).
In the first session, speakers Prof. Dr. Cheng Hwee Ming from the University of Malaya, Malaysia, and Prof. Dr. H. Adang Suherman, M.A from the Indonesian University of Education. Meanwhile, in the second session, Dr. Ania Lian from Charles Darwin University, Australia, and Prof. Waterworth from Deakin University, Australia.
Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd said that ICIRAD which was held for the third time and the first ICoPESH had a positive impact on the university. The event is a medium for lecturers to gain new knowledge. This is seen as important as a provision to improve the quality of education. “This is to strengthen the quality of education which has a wider scope. Because the speakers presented were also from outside, “he explained.
Through this event, continued the Chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Communication was also possible regarding other programs, such as research collaboration which is very important for institutions. “This research collaboration is very important. That is to support the ranking of institutions, especially at the national level,” he said.
This year, Undiksha has launched an internationalization program at home. A number of programs have been initiated to succeed. It is hoped that this conference will further strengthen it so that in the future Undiksha will be able to become the “home” of the international community. “Of course to balance the program, this conference is very important. From here I will introduce Undiksha. This conference is also the direction of the ministry,” he added.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor I Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.TI., explained that Undiksha has eight international conferences. But not all of them are held within one year. It was reiterated, that many benefits were obtained by lecturers from the program. Not only knowledge but also relationships. “Here you can build relationships, you can exchange ideas and ideas,” he said.
Research collaboration is one of the follow-up things that can be born from this conference. Especially for Undiksha, this has already been going on with a number of universities. “Of course, this continues to be maximized,” said the former Deputy Dean I of the Engineering and Vocational Faculty. In particular, it was stated that research by Undiksha academics had been quite a lot. Likewise, the publication of articles continues to increase. Efforts to boost it continue to be made. “Yesterday the Chancellor gave awards to lecturers regarding journals. This is a form of motivation,” he concluded. (hms)
