Singaraja- The Faculty of Education, Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to strive to improve quality. Through the Department of Education, Psychology and Guidance (IPPB), one of the ways to do this is through an academic seminar that presents speakers from the National University of Malaysia (UKM), Monday (2/3/2020). This activity also serves as a space for the assessment of cooperation in the implementation of a number of programs.
The speakers for the seminar which were attended by lecturers, students, and alumni consisted of Prof. Madya Dr. Salleh Amat who is a Counseling Guidance lecturer, and Prof. Dato’ Dr. Norazah Mohammad Nordin dean of the Faculty of Education. “This seminar is following up on the Minister of Education and Culture’s policy regarding independent campuses,” explained the Chair of the Committee, Dr. I Gde Wawan Sudatha, S, Pd., S.T., M.Pd.
This seminar raised topics related to education in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. This academic who graduated from the Doctoral Program in Learning Technology at the State University of Malang said that this era must be taken seriously by universities and must be able to increase competitiveness. “We want this seminar to be able to understand, utilize and be able to implement education in accordance with the industrial revolution era 4.0,” he said.
It is hoped that this activity can be followed by other programs in the form of collaboration in student exchanges, joint research, and lecturer exchanges that support independent campuses, and the internationalization at home program launched by the Chancellor of Undiksha in 2019. “After this activity, there will be a focus group discussion related to cooperation. There are also public lectures,” he added.
Dean of FIP Undiksha, Dr. I Ketut Gading, M.Psi., emphasized the commitment to take strategic steps to improve the quality of the faculty which will lead to improving the quality of the university. “This seminar is one way. Moreover, there is an independent campus policy from the Mas Minister (Mendikbud-ed),” he said.
Regarding collaboration, student exchange is considered to have great potential. This is to support the Minister of Education and Culture’s policy regarding three-semester lectures outside the study program. “Hopefully collaboration can be forged especially with the Faculty of Education and universities in general. We hope the Dean of the UKM Education Faculty can help facilitate it,” he concluded. (hms)
