Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) through the Learning Development and Quality Assurance Institute or Lembaga Pengembangan Pembelajaran dan Penjaminan Mutu (LPPPM) held a Workshop on Revision of the Freedom to Learn-Independent Campus or Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) curriculum and Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Revision of MBKM Curriculum Implementation Guidelines Undiksha for 2022, Wednesday (30/11/2022). This activity was attended by the dean, head/secretary of the institution, heads of departments, and representatives of study programs within Undiksha.
This hybrid activity was opened by Undiksha Vice rector for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I., accompanied by the Head of the Learning and Curriculum Development Center, Dr. Luh Putu Sendratari, M.Hum. Rasben Dantes appreciated the implementation of this activity. “The time is right for us to try to evaluate what is currently running, namely the MBKM curriculum,” he said.
Rasben Dantes also said that the implementation of the MBKM curriculum, which has been running since 2020, is undeniable that there are still problems in its implementation, such as converting courses in each study program, determining courses that do not yet have clear guidelines, and so on. Therefore, this activity is expected to produce solutions to these problems. In the future, he hopes the MBKM program can continue and the learning process at Undiksha will run even better to produce superior and competitive human resources.
On the other hand, the head of the Workshop Organizing Committee, Dr. I Ketut Yoda, S.Pd., M.Or., explained that the implementation of MBKM is one of the programs launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) which aims to encourage students to master various useful knowledge, so they are ready to enter the work.
In addition, learning on an independent campus provides challenges and opportunities to develop student creativity and independence in seeking and finding knowledge through realities and field dynamics such as ability requirements, real problems, social interaction, collaboration, self-management, performance demands, targets and achievements.
So important, this program needs to be supported by good implementation in the field as well. Therefore, this activity was carried out to be able to find out various existing problems both originating in the input and the process of implementing the MBKM curriculum. This workshop presented two speakers from Undiksha, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Putu Arnyana, M.Sc., and Prof. Dr. Nyoman Dantes. (hms)
