Badung- Undiksha Faculty of Economics held an International Conference on Tourism, Economic, Accounting, Management and Social Science (TEAMS) at Golden Tulip Jineng Resort, Kuta, Thursday (10/10/2019). The conference, which has entered its fourth year, is more specific in discussing sustainable economics, related to the development of regional potentials and MSMEs that can contribute to regional development.
The conference presented Dr. Risti Permani, Senior Lecture at Deakin University, Australia, Dias Satria, Ph.D, Head of International Undergraduated Program (Economic, Finance, and Banking) Universitas Brawijaya, and Dr. Ni Made Suci, M.Sc., Head of Management Department Ganesha Indonesia University of Education.
Deputy Dean I FE Undiksha Dr. Gede Adi Yuniarta, SE., M.Sc., Ak., explained that this conference is principally the implementation of the tri dharma of higher education to achieve Undiksha’s vision, especially in the academic field. Through this, it is hoped that ideas from keynote speakers will emerge, especially those related to the development of tourism, economics, accounting, management, social science. “We don’t only present research results here, but we can also explore ideas for further development,” he said.
The number of participants, he continued, reached 148 people from almost all parts of Indonesia, starting from Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Merauke, Nusa Tenggara. A total of 74 of them are presenters. “The participants consist of students, lecturers, deans. In this conference, the position of student lecturers and lecturers is equal. But within the limits as a researcher or research. They have a summit of articles as a result of their research. This will be the seminar later,” said Adi Yudiarta.
It was further stated that the articles presented were carefully selected. Later, this will be published in the proceedings, so it will be a proceeding with an international reputation. Our target is to be published in two months,” he said accompanied by the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Luh Indrayani, M.Pd.
The Dean of FE Undiksha Prof. Dr. Naswan Suharsono, M.Pd., hopes that this activity can introduce faculties that are still relatively young. “There are many economic faculties. But for Undiksha, the focus is on general entrepreneurship,” he explained. The topic that was discussed at this conference was emphasized as a concern for FE Undiksha. Included in the development of entrepreneurship that can improve the country’s economy. “We want the themes discussed to be able to contribute to the economy,” he added.
The topics presented by the speakers varied. Dr. Risti explained the agribusiness business in Australia. Namely people who are consistent with their agricultural development and even become a big business that can advance their area. Meanwhile, Dias explained about assisting MSMEs with a touch of technology. (lpsy)
