Singaraja- Dozens of students from the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) who took part in the 17 Km and 45 Km Hiking Competition, commemorated the 74th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia off the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd, Monday (5/8/2019). It is hoped that through this event, the next generation of this nation will be more enthusiastic about implementing the four pillars of Indonesian nationality, namely Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhineka Tunggal Ika. “We actually have to instill values, how our ancestors fought to gain independence,” he said.
Delivered further, to fill the current independence, not necessarily by risking body and soul like the ancestors. However, it can be done by carrying out positive movements that contribute to increasing the dignity of the nation and creating a just and prosperous society. “We can improve the quality of ourselves to fill that independence, is to create a just and prosperous society, loyal to the four pillars, Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhineka Tunggal Ika. This is what we hope can happen through walking,” he said.
Through this annual event, students are expected to be more enthusiastic about reaching for the future, including producing achievements in other fields, both at national and international levels. This achievement, he emphasized, was very important to increase the university’s grade and realize the vision of becoming a superior university based on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana in Asia in 2045. For women, the 17 km distance took a route around the city of Singaraja which took place on August 7, and for men, 45 Km taking the route from Celukan Bawang Port, Gerokgak District to Singaraja City took place on August 10.
