Singaraja- The physical construction of the Ganesha University of Education flats has been completed. Likewise, the facilities inside are complete. In line with this, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing handed over its utilization to Undiksha, Thursday (24/6/2021). The flat located on Jalan Jatayu, Singaraja is then ready to be managed and inhabited by female students.
From the Ministry of PUPR, the handover was represented by the Head of the Specific Non-Vertical Work Unit for the Provision of Housing for the Province of Bali, I Wayan Suardana. And from Undiksha, received by the Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Administration, Finance, and Human Resources (PAK-SDM), Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., accompanied by the Head of Bureau, Dean, and Postgraduate Director. This event was also witnessed by a number of student candidates for flat occupants.

He hopes that this building can be used according to needs. In addition, it is also supported by the formation of a management team Undiksha. The team is not only tasked with ensuring its management but also taking care of other matters, such as building maintenance, recording facilities, including facilitating complaints that arise from residents. “This manager can carry out the tower utilization activities well, including operational, maintenance, and care activities guided by regulations,” he said.
Delivered further, the use of flats must also be supported by the orderliness of the occupants. Therefore, managers are expected to be able to prepare rules and sanctions for violators. “Managers and residents develop an attitude of belonging to this tower. Immediately take care of asset handover documents. This is very important, the existence of assets must be clear.
Deputy Chancellor of Undiksha, I Wayan Lasmawan, revealed that welcoming the handover of the use of flats, Undiksha had formed a management team. His party also hopes that this tower will actually become a center for character education for residents. This flat will later be equipped with various needs and other supporting facilities. “Thus, this flat functions as expected by the PUPR ministry,” he explained.
The capacity of this flat is 84 people. However, based on online registration, enthusiasts reached hundreds of people. This, according to Lasmawan, proves the level of trust of the community and students to live in flats that are equipped with very good security. “At least one thing we can confirm, if you live here, student safety is guaranteed because there is a 24-hour security guard on guard, there is a dormitory mother and her staff. And there is a CS who will manage cleanliness and sanitation,” he said. This flat must be occupied starting July 1, 2021. Occupants are charged an annual operating fee which is much cheaper when compared to the cost of a boarding room.
The existence of this flat was welcomed positively by student parents, one of whom was Made Duhaeni from Jembrana Regency. He who also witnessed the handover ceremony revealed the reason for placing his son in the flat. That is not only because the cost is more affordable, but also to ensure safety, foster a disciplined attitude in children, be responsible, and be able to socialize with students from other study programs.
