President Joko Widodo and PANRB Minister Azwar Anas announced the 2024 CASN recruitment at the State Palace, Jakarta on Friday (5/1). The government will open CASN recruitment for 2.3 million formations allocated to teachers and lecturers, health workers, and technical personnel according to needs.
The government needs skilled young learners from various scientific disciplines to support digital-based public services, and bureaucratic efficiency, and encourage increased performance and government accountability, said President Joko Widodo in a press release.
PANRB Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas explained that ASN recruitment is projected to reach 2,302,543 for central and regional government agencies. The government is opening wider space for new talents or fresh graduates to take part in the selection this year compared to previous years. The government also provides more ASN needs in regional government agencies than the central government, because regions are considered to need a lot of ASN personnel.
This year, there are 690,822 CPNS formations that fresh graduates can apply for. The allocation for fresh graduates is the country’s commitment to providing opportunities for the best young talents to dedicate their thoughts and energy to the nation.
Meanwhile, the formation of regional agencies was 1,867,333, consisting of 483,575 CPNS and 1,383,758 PPPK. PPPK formations in regional agencies are allocated to 419,146 teachers, 417,196 for health personnel, and 547,416 formations for technical personnel. As for the allocation for official schools, this year the government opened 6,027 formations.
Minister Anas said that the government also has a concrete commitment and policy in completing non-ASN workers, including former Category II Honorary Workers, as mandated by Law no. 20 of 2023 concerning ASN.
“One of them is the concrete policy of determining formations for PPPK which reached 1.6 million this year, which of course provides space for non-ASN personnel to become PPPK,” explained Anas.
