Singaraja – Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) strives to improve the facilities and infrastructure to create more effective learning by building an integrated health laboratory. The construction had started since mid-January 2021. This project was funded by the central government through the National Sharia Securities (SBSN) project program.
The construction of the building, which is located on the central campus in Singaraja, has been evaluated by the Director of Facilities and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Dr. Mohammad Sofwan Effendi, M.Ed, Monday (15/3/2021). His arrival was welcomed by Undiksha Rector, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd, accompanied by the Vice Rectors, Head of Bureau, Deans and Vice Deans of Undiksha and the Director of Postgraduate Program.
Sofwan Effendi immediately inspected the project which was located behind the main building. Information obtained from construction management showed that up to the seventh week the realization of development had reached 7.9 percent. It was higher than the target of 5.8 percent. As he said that there is time saving for the construction.
The building, which consists of a basement and three floors, was targeted for completion on December 15, 2021. Therefore, he emphasized that we need good management in this project work. Timeliness, including material procurement and quality must be a serious concern and must be thought by the management. These two things were their demands to the project constructors.
On this occasion, he emphasized that the quality of development this year is one of the references for providing assistance to universities in the following year. “If this year’s work performance is good and it has a good impact on learning, we will add more new buildings so that they can increase. That is the concept of the ministry, “he stressed.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Education and Culture is concerned about developing universities in Indonesia, especially state universities. This is to support the realization of effective learning. Sofyan said, “Because the building, laboratory and their tools are one of the effective learning supporting tools. So later we think further.”
In addition, the target of completing the construction of a stalled building has been realized, such as the Sports Center at the Jinengdalem Campus has been completed. He concluded, “Alhamdulillah, the Rector is very cooperative. We had finished the stalled building for the last two years, including the sport center in Jinengdalem, it had all been completed.”
Undiksha Rector, Prof. Jampel said that Undiksha still needed to improve the infrastructure, such as lecturing rooms, offices, laboratories and so on. However, due to the limited budget they have, development cannot be carried out quickly. Therefore, the assistance from the central government is highly appreciated. “Astungkara for the pleasure of the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, has always provided extraordinary assistance. So, Undiksha can meet the needs of infrastructure, “he said.
He also explained, Undiksha would also propose the construction of a building for the Denpasar campus and an Educational hospital that supports the Faculty of Medicine. The realization of this proposal really depends on the development progress in 2021. Jampel said, “That is why I emphasize to the constructor, they must really be able to complete it on time.” (hms)
