Engineering and Vocation Faculty re-organized National Seminar of Vocation and Technology (SEMNASVOKTEK; Seminar Nasional Vokasi dan Teknologi) for the second year. This event was conducted in Inna Grand Bali Hotel on Saturday, October 28th, 2017. On this occasion, the head of committee reported that 55 presenters who joined in the seminar came from Bali and other various provinces in Indonesia as well.
Vice Rector 1 of Ganesha University of Education, Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Arnyana, M.Si opened the event through his speech. He felt enthusiast and hoped that this event could build the nation up. After the speech, the event was officially opened through ribbon-cutting ceremony by Virtual Reality application; an application made by students of Engineering and Vocation Faculty.
SEMNASVOKTEK was organized in an attempt of gathering the researchers, practitioners, and students to share knowledge and experiences in research and community service. Along with the event, Indonesian Vocation Lecturer and Teacher Association Committee (ADGVI, Asosiasi Dosen dan Guru Vokasi Indonesia) for Bali region in the period of 2017-2021 was inaugurated directly by the chairman of ADGVI, Prof. Dr. Soesanto, M.Pd. The management commitment of ADGVI was read by ADGVI chief of Bali, Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, M.Pd. and followed by the other members. The Chairman expected that all committees must master Anggaran Dasar Rumah Tangga (ADRT) ADGVI; an agreement of fund management and others. It was not an association, but an individual association required by legislation.
The committees had to do the instructed obligation. As the agenda of inauguration finished, the main agenda of SEMNASVOKTEK with 3 speakers, namely 1) Prof. Dr. Soesanto , M.Pd., 2) Dr. Moch Bruri Triyono, M.Pd., and 3) Dr. I Gede Sudirtha, M.Pd. moderated by Vice Dean 1 of Engineering and Vocation Faculty, Gede Rasben Dantes, was held. Each speaker delivered different material. The first speaker talked about some aspects for Indonesia to be a part of MEA by which Indonesia needed infrastructure for the development. The second speaker concerned with the industrial revolution challenge (i4.0) for the vocation education. The third speaker focused on character building to strengthen innovative human resources.
