Kuta- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) held a focused discussion and review of the Statute in Kuta, Badung Regency, January 27 to 29, 2022. This activity is a follow-up to the approval and determination of the latest Governance Organization.
The discussion was attended by the Head of the Senate, the Rector and vice rectors, heads of bureaus, and the Statute drafting team of Undiksha. On this occasion, there was also direction from Plt. Secretary of the Directorate General of Diktiristek, Prof. Tjiktjik Srie Tjahjandarie and related officials within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek).
The discussion was opened by Undiksha’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I. He said there were several changes to Undiksha’s Governance Organization. The changes are not substantial, only more on changing the duties and functions of the Vice Rector and the name of academic support. This change must be in line with the Statute. Therefore, it is very important to do a review or review.
As an overview, Rasben Dantes conveyed that this Statute adjustment still prioritizes the efficiency of an organization and is based on an evaluation of the previous Statute. The new Statute is still expected to deliver Undiksha to become a better university and produce superior human resources, which is one of the essences of higher education.
On this occasion, Plt. Secretary of the Directorate General of Higher Education, Tjiktjik Tjahjandarie, said that the Statute must be able to maintain and improve the conduciveness of the institution. She emphasized that the Statute is very important because it is a reference or basic budget for universities in running their organizations. Therefore, the ministry hopes the Statute can cover or contain aspects that must be regulated and divided up. “Do not let anything remain. Because if there are matters that are not completely divided, there will be a dispute. In our experience, there are many problems in universities, especially during the election of the Rector. This is an opportunity for Undiksha to then review thoroughly so that the things we don’t want don’t happen,” she said.
Further conveyed that the preparation of the Statute refers to PP 4 of 2014, and it must truly accommodate every existing business and potential new business that will arise, especially while implementing the policy transformation of the Freedom to Learn Independent Campus.
The Director of Resources of Kemdikbudristek, Dr. Mohammad Sofwan Effendi, M.Ed, also conveyed the same. This Statute is expected to refer to the MBKM policy with effective target achievement. In addition, it can encourage the productivity of resources in higher education.
The statute review was also conducted by the Head of the Legal Bureau of Kemdikbud, Dian Wahyuni, Plt. Rosdiana Renny Parlina, and the Coordinator of Legal Substance, Administration, and Personnel of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Suwitno. (hms)
