Singaraja- As many as 12 students from the University of Education Ganesha (Undiksha) have passed to take part in the 2019 Homeland Archipelago Student Exchange – Credit Transfer System with Technology (Permata Sakti) program. It is hoped that their participation will not be limited to improving academic quality. But it is also a medium for honing soft skills. This was emphasized by Vice Chancellor I Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.TI during the release ceremony in the Ganesha Room III, August 29, 2019.
These students attended three months of education which were divided into six universities with the status of Teaching Personnel Education Institutions (LPTK), namely Jakarta State University, Indonesian Education University, Surabaya State University, Malang State University, Makassar State University, and Manado State University. From that, it is hoped that there will be cultural exchanges that can boost self-quality. “We want this experience to improve the quality of students,” he said accompanied by the Head of Selection Implementation, Dr. I Gde Wawan Sudatha, S.Pd., S.T., M.Pd.
Before being declared eligible for the program, students from various study programs must take part in administrative selection and interviews. Apart from that, it is also supported by achievements and the Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) and has never been subject to academic sanctions. Apart from dispatching, Undiksha also accepts students for similar programs with the same number. They are also expected to develop self-quality, even though they are on different campuses. “Lecturers also have to be able to adjust what material is given,” said Rasben Dantes.
Applicants from Undiksha, Desi Yunita, and her twin sister, Devi Yusvitasari previously also commented on the program. This fifth-semester student of the Law Study Program, Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, rated it very positively. One of them is to provide insight into learning that is applied in other universities which can later be adopted. “By participating in this, we can add insight. So you know what other higher education institutions are like,” he said. (hms)
