Implementation of the General Education (GE) model with Tri Hita Karana insight with a lesson study setting in the learningPersonality Development Course (MPK) continues to be encouraged by the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha). This has been socialized to lecturers, on Wednesday (21/11/2018). The GE model, which is also an instruction from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, is an effort to increase the competitiveness of the younger generation in facing the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
Chair of the Undiksha Learning Development and Quality Assurance Institute (LPPPM), Prof. Dr. A.A.I.N. Marhaeni, M.A, who opened the socialization in the LPPPM Seminar Room, revealed that the condition of the national and young generation has recently become increasingly worrying. This may be one of the impacts of declining or stagnant quality of education. At the same time, there was very rapid progress in many things. “Indeed, like it or not, as a nation, as a young generation, as individuals, we cannot close our eyes to these changes. It has an impact on many things that can change a person’s paradigm of thinking. Therefore, the Tri Hita Karana concept is very important to implement. “This is to make the young generation ready to compete in the industrial revolution 4.0,” she said.
According to him, Tri Hita Karana, which was passed down from ancestors to the Balinese people, has extraordinary and universal value. Apart from that, it also received appreciation from other communities. “We as Balinese people must be proud of this concept. Many people appreciate it. “Including a lot of people talking about this now,” she explained.
It was further stated that Tri Hita Karana was not only proposed as a general education (GE) model. However, it is also the basis for Undiksha’s vision to become a superior university in Asia by 2045. “Moreover, it is in line with Undksha’s vision, of course, it must be implemented,” she stressed.
