The Industrial Revolution 4.0 is a serious concern for many groups, including the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha). Facing this, Academician I Putu Gede Parma, S.ST.Par., M.Par encouraged the younger generation, including students, to prepare themselves thoroughly. “You have to be well prepared to face this,” he said, Monday (10/12/2018).
Furthermore, Deputy Dean II of the Faculty of Economics said that in this revolution, competition was getting tougher. Therefore, what is needed is not only knowledge but also skills, attitude, and character. “The millennial generation must be ready to face the industrial revolution 4.0. Of course, there must be points that students must have when they become alumni of universities or private institutions. “Not only knowledge, but also others,” he stressed.
Building skills and knowledge has become the responsibility of education administrators from the lowest level to the highest. Meanwhile, for others, it comes from oneself. In the era of globalization, it is not an easy matter to realize these things. “It takes a commitment to make this happen,” he said.
The spirit of competition also needs to continue to be encouraged and balanced with collaboration with other parties. Not only one scientific scope but also others that can later complement each other. “With this, there will be greater opportunities for creating a young generation who have the insight to develop themselves,” concluded the academic who is also the Chair of the Buleleng Indonesian National Youth Committee (KNPI).
As a university that is required to produce reliable Human Resources (HR), Undiksha has prepared a strategy to face this revolution. Such as providing graduates with multi-competencies, one of which is English, giving students more space and time to build their soft skills. “We continue to make breakthroughs to improve the quality of human resources. “There is through the application of Blended Learning and Flip Classroom,” said Undiksha Chancellor, Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., during the 2020 Development Coordination Meeting (Rakorbang).
