Badung- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) through the institute for Quality Assurance and Learning Development (LPMPP) conducted the evaluation of Practical Training for students on Friday (2/8/2024). Held in Kuta, Badung, this evaluation serves as a foundation for designing future programs aimed at developing competitive and characterful graduates.
This evaluation was conducted for the 2024 School-Based Practice (PLP) and Industrial and World of Work Internship (IDUKA) Programs that have recently ended. The Head of LPMPP Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Made Tegeh, S.Pd., M.Pd., stated that the general implementation of these two programs had proceeded smoothly. However, he emphasized the importance of conducting evaluations to ensure the continuous improvement of program quality. This commitment reflects Undiksha’s dedication to developing competitive, superior, and characterful graduates. “The topics addressed are to focus on producing competitive and strong character graduates. This is a significant challenge for us as it involves the students’ competence and character development. There are two aspects that our graduates must acquire to effectively compete in society. Therefore, evaluating the implementation of these programs is very important”. He explained, accompanied by the Secretary of LPMPP Undiksha, Dr. I Putu Gede Parma, S.ST., M.Par.
This evaluation covered more than just program implementation. It also included the relevant experience with the study. Additionally, the evaluation highlighted the value in terms of soft skills, such as communication, leadership, and adaptability acquired by the students during their practice. “We must ensure that students have both competencies and good character. It reflects the quality of the higher education process and how these are interpreted by the students when interacting with the stakeholders and communities in the education institution to conduct teaching assistance or internship” continued by academics from Panji Village, Sukasada, Buleleng.
Regarding Undiksha’s graduates, Prof. Tegeh noted that they have received significant positive messages from partners and graduates. Nevertheless, Undiksha emphasized strategic steps for improving quality assurance to realize the increase in competitive universities. This is in line with Undiksha’s vision “Becoming superior university in asia 2045 based on Tri Hita Karana Philosophy” and Rector’s vision for the period 2023-2027 “Making Undiksha International Reputable in Education and Relationship”
In addition to internal evaluation with relevant centers with LPMPP Undiksha, on the second day August 3, 2024, this event also invited Bali Provincial Education Office and Buleleng Regency Education for sharing thoughts on the implementation of School-Based Practice (PLP). Furthermore, the Buleleng Regency Investment and One-Stop Integrated Service office was involved in discussion regarding the internship program.
