Singaraja- The Bali Language Education Program of the Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS) at Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) held an entrepreneur exhibition as part of the final project for the entrepreneurship course on Thursday, July 4, 2024. This exhibition highlighted the incorporation of local wisdom into modern business practices, inspired by the Lontar Dharma Caruban.
The exhibition, guided by the lecturer of the course, Ida Bagus Putra Manik Aryana, S.S., M.Si., carries the motto “Buka Coteke Sambungin Dadi Layur, Cenik Lantang, Lais Tileh,” emphasizing the entrepreneurial philosophy rooted in Balinese culture. The exhibition focused on providing excellent service and long term business management. Students showcased various innovative products that combined local wisdom with modern business approaches, such as culinary arts, crafting, and cultural services.
This theme of the exhibition was inspired by the Lontar Dharma Caruban, an ancient manuscript that contains culinary knowledge used to serve kings in the past. This theme encouraged students to appreciate and develop Bali’s cultural heritage, transforming it into products with high economic value.
The event was attended by the Head of the Department of Language, Indonesian, and Regional Literature, Dr. I Wayan Artika, who commended the students’ creativity in producing tangible products that integrate Balinese cultural wisdom. The exhibition successfully attracted the attention of faculty leaders, lecturers, students, and the general public. The goal of the event was to provide students with opportunities to create their own employment and to foster a sense of responsibility towards preserving Bali culture.
