Singaraja- The election of the Dean of the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences (FHIS) of the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha) took place, on Thursday (18/7/2019). Prof. Dr. Sukadi, M.Pd., M.Ed., is again entrusted with leading the 2019-2023 period. He was elected by acclamation, after the candidate, Dr. I Made Pageh, M.Hum stated his resignation before the presentation of the vision and mission.
Step Dr. The Pageh was also accompanied by a written statement submitted to the Head of the FHIS Senate, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd., who led the election process. However, this academic in the field of history said that he would still support the implementation of programs that will be rolled out in the future to make the faculty even better.
Meanwhile, in the next four years, Prof. Sukadi carries the vision of making the Faculty of Law and Social Sciences superior in the Eastern Indonesia region based on Tri Hita Karana in 2023. It is further explained, that superior is meant, namely having quality output of education graduates and non-educating professionals, excelling in historical studies and the development of society and culture locally, superior in spatial/regional studies, and so on. “Excellence includes various things that are in accordance with the study programs in the faculty,” he said when confirmed after the election.
He, who is still serving as dean for the 2015-2019 period, has prepared a strategic plan for the next four years. Some of them are improving the quality of human resources for lecturers and education staff by encouraging further studies, and increasing the quantity of facilities and infrastructure for quality and character education and learning activities. There are also prospective new study programs and opening non-regular classes and international standard class pilots. “Improving the quality of research is also included as a concern. Likewise in proposing relevant study programs at the master level,” he said.
Accelerating realizing the vision, according to him, what is urgent to do is to establish cooperation with universities in Eastern Indonesia. Apart from that, it also takes an inventory of potential areas that are still “sleeping” as research material and community service. “This is what I will do first. Because Undiksha is trusted for the development of education in Eastern Indonesia,” he said.
He also asked for the support of the entire faculty and university academic community in the successful implementation of the program. In front of the senate members, lecturers, and staff, he also “proposed” Dr. Pageh to be able to accompany him in the ranks of the leadership. “I want Mr. Pageh to be able to help as Deputy Dean II,” he added. Meanwhile, the Chair of the FHIS Senate, Prof. Lasmawan appreciated the conduct of the elections which were very conducive and harmonious. He hoped that under the “master” Prof. Sukadi, the quality of the faculty is getting better. “Hopefully for the new dean, he can protect the faculty members and lead them in a better direction,” he said.
