Singaraja– The first batch of 2019 School Principal Strengthening Education and Training at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksa) has been closed, Friday (6/12/2019). After that, the Heads of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) and Elementary Schools (SD) must continue to improve quality and innovate more in order to accelerate Indonesia’s golden generation. This was conveyed by Vice Chancellor I Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.TI.
Rasben Dantes explained that in this training, teachers get new experiences, both from the instructor and sharing between participants. This is expected to be the foundation to be able to provide change in the world of education, especially in schools that are led. “I hope the participants will not stop at receiving a graduation certificate. Hopefully, the knowledge gained can make a difference in the workplace,” he said.
Serving as a school principal, especially at the PAUD and SD levels, has a very heavy role, one of which is in building character. Therefore, the principal must have good quality. “The principal has a very vital role, as a leader. It is necessary to change mindset, culture, and organization must be changed. Small changes must be made, starting from oneself can have an impact on changing education in Bali, Indonesia to give birth to a golden generation in 2045 for advanced Indonesia,” he said.
In this different era, teachers are also expected to create innovations in teaching. The use of technology cannot be separated to compensate for students who enter as digital natives. “School principals must be aware that today’s students are digital natives who are attached to technology. Their concept of school is different from what we experienced before. Teachers must be willing to adapt, want to change the learning model, search for learning models through cyberspace that are in accordance with the content,” he added.
In this program, participants are declared to have passed one hundred percent, with the title of satisfactory, quite satisfactory, and very satisfying. Ni Luh Supartini achieved a very satisfying predicate. This teacher from Karangasem admitted that he gained a lot of insight in this program that could improve his quality. This program was attended by 200 participants from Jembrana and Karangasem Regencies. On December 12-19 2019, there will also be a second batch with 160 participants. (hms)
