Singaraja- Happiness radiated from the face of a Postgraduate student at the University of Education of Ganesha (Undiksha), Ni Kadek Juliantari. This Language Education Study Program student won a doctorate after taking an open exam, Wednesday (5/8/2020). She was crowned as the 18th doctor who was born in the largest public university in North Bali.
The pride that is also felt by the Rector of Undiksha and the Postgraduate Director is not only limited to their titles. However, she is also focused on his struggle to complete her studies which are relatively fast, which is only two years. Apart from that, her achievements were also offset by a GPA of 3.98 which led her to achieve the summa cum laude predicate.
The woman who was born in Ulakan, on July 3, 1987, raised her dissertation “Literacy Program in a Bilingual Context: Multimodel Analysis and the Impact of Implementation”. In front of the examiners, she explained that in general, this research was conducted as an effort to increase the use of the Balinese language both in the academic and non-academic realms as well as to implement the Bali Governor Regulation number 80 of 2018 concerning the Protection and Use of Balinese Language, Script and Literature and the Implementation of the Balinese Language Month.
Her struggle to complete the final project cannot be separated from the dynamics. Her busy life as a lecturer at STKIP Hindu Religion Amlapura, as a journal editor, and as supervisor of the Student Activity Unit (UKM) requires her to be able to manage her time. But that did not dampen her steps to complete the work. Armed with a commitment and based on comfort, what is targeted can be achieved. “When I first submitted the proposal, the first thing they asked was whether they were comfortable or not to continue this research. I was given one week to think. In that time, I found chemistry so that you feel comfortable doing it all the time,” she said.
She admitted that her success in completing her studies could not be separated from the encouragement of the promoter and co-promoter as well as the Postgraduate leadership. In the future, she is committed to continuing to develop knowledge that is not only fixated on the field of Indonesian but also on Balinese, which is part of Balinese culture. This was also conveyed directly to the examiners. “Of course, I will continue to work. I see there is still a lot of research that can be done. Likewise for writing articles, “added the lecturer at STKIP Hindu Religion Amlapura.
Undiksha Postgraduate Language Education Study Program Coordinator, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Rasna, M.Pd., who is also the promoter, really appreciates the achievements of his students. According to him, this cannot be separated from the support of all parties in the Undiksha environment for the implementation of learning. On this occasion, he also asked to continue to improve self-quality and continue to move towards the title of professor. (hms)
