Singaraja-Dharma Women’s Association (a group for the wives of people who work in a particular institution) or Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) handed over assistance to residents affected by the flood disaster in Jembrana Regency, Wednesday (9/11/2022). This social activity was also a form of implementation of Tri Hita Karana (Three causes to prosperity) in terms of pawongan (relationship between people).
The Head of DWP Undiksha, Ny. Tien Sumartini Jampel led the handover of assistance. He was present with several administrators. The assistance provided was in the form of goods, consisting of 20 cupboards, 21 rice cookers and 15 stoves. The goods were distributed through the Regional Disaster Management Board or Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah (BPBD) of Jembrana Regency. “The receivier wants to receive items such as good cupboards and kitchen utensils so that they can be used for a long time,” he explained.
Hopefully, this assistance benefits the community and can lighten their burden. She also added that the distribution of this assistance is a form of concern for others and has often been carried out by DWP Undiksha. “Hopefully the people affected by the disaster can get up soon,” he added.
The distribution of assistance was attended by Wayan Yuniati, wife of Jembrana Regional Secretary I Made Budiasa. He expressed his gratitude for DWP Undiksha’s concern for the citizens. “I am very grateful and thankful that Dharma Wanita Undiksha really cares about our residents affected by the floods. Hopefully what is given benefits to our affected residents,” She said.
It is said that the flood disaster has caused a very severe impact in several locations. Currently, affected residents still need various needs, such as cupboards, stoves, kitchen utensils, mattresses, clothing, and so on.
The assistance received will then be distributed by the Jembrana Regency BPBD by looking at the priority scale. (hms)
