Singaraja- The delivery of food aid by the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues. This time it is targeting hundreds of students from outside Bali who still live in Singaraja City, where the campus is located. This activity was coordinated by the Student Executive Board of the Republic of Students (BEM-REMA). The symbolic handover was carried out by the Deputy Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni, and Public Relations of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd., in the Auditorium Thursday (19/8/2021).
The handover of this assistance was divided into two waves and based on the faculties. This is to anticipate crowds in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. In between these activities, Vice Chancellor Prof. Suastra said that prior to distributing the aid, BEM-REMA had conducted data collection on students from outside Bali. “There are about 280 students who need help,” he explained.
The implementation of this activity is also a form of implementation of Tri Hita Karana in terms of person, namely maintaining good relations between people. This assistance is expected to ease the economic burden of students. “So far, we have focused on groceries because they are a basic need. In the future, of course, based on the results of BEM surveys and studies, whatever is needed, we will definitely help,” he added.
Meanwhile, the President of the Student Republic of Undiksha, Kadek Andre Karisma Dewantara said the distribution of this assistance began with online data collection. Based on the criteria, the recipient students are listed as active students and really come from outside Bali as shown by an identity card (KTP). “The assistance this time is for all students from outside Bali who are still living in Singaraja,” he explained. He also hopes that this assistance will be of benefit. “Hopefully later with this assistance, students can be helped. Even though it’s not much, at least it can help before they can go home and the situation normalizes,” he said.
Undiksha also distributed the same assistance to students. In addition, in order to ease the burden on students, Undiksha also provides a policy of reducing and postponing the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) for students affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, it also strives for scholarships from various sources. Meanwhile, with regard to vaccination for students from outside Bali, it has been coordinated with the local government so that students can attend vaccination booths that have been provided in a number of locations.
