Singaraja- The Covid-19 pandemic has not subsided until now. In the midst of this situation, Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) as an academic institution invites the entire academic community to keep working hard. “Let’s continue to be determined and enthusiastic to make Undiksha better for Indonesia to progress,”. This was stated by the Chancellor of Undiksha, Prof. Dr. I Nyoman Jampel, M.Pd., at a routine meeting, Monday (2/8/2021).
The Chancellor from Nusa Dua, Badung Regency said that in the midst of a pandemic, various activities can still be carried out from home, both by employees related to administrative activities and lecturers related to Tri Dharma activities, namely Education and Teaching, Research, and Community Service. “I give this extraordinary appreciation,” he said.
Undiksha students have also made a number of achievements in various competitions, both at national and international levels. In addition, Undiksha also made it into the top ten in the number of grants received from the central government. This achievement, according to the Chancellor of Jampel, is an honor. “We are also still able to collaborate, both with domestic and foreign universities. From this, it can be said that we can go beyond offline activities. Because so much has been accomplished. Therefore, let me thank everyone for their innovation, creativity, and passion,” he said. It is believed that this positive achievement was inspired by Undiksha’s vision, which is to become a superior university based on the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana in Asia in 2045. “Perhaps Tri Hita Karana is the basis for all our steps,” he said. Delivered further, Undiksha is also targeted to become an internationally reputable university. A number of strategies have been devised to make this happen. This needs to be supported with the enthusiasm and harmony of the entire academic community.
On this occasion, it was also conveyed specifically related to the learning process during a pandemic. Undiksha has conducted it online for three semesters. In the process, it is undeniable that there are obstacles for some students. The most frequently mentioned obstacles relate to internet facilities and networks. It is hoped that this problem can be found a solution immediately. Lecturers are also expected to be able to create learning strategies that can better reach all students. “But I don’t expect the obstacles to come from the lecturers,” said the Chancellor who was born in 1959.
With regard to the Covid-19 pandemic, through this event, the entire academic community is also invited to continue to take care of themselves and be disciplined in implementing health protocols. “As for the vaccine, maybe all the staff have done it. We really have to do the project well, up to 5 billion. Why am I conveying this, because as the chancellor, almost every day, several times are contacted by staff and the general public who state that they are sick, but cannot find a place for treatment. Some are in serious condition, to the point of crying,” he explained. (hms)
