Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) again received scholarship assistance for students. This time was given by PT. Erlangga Publisher Bali Branch. The scholarships intended for 10 undergraduate students were symbolically accepted by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Alumni and Public Relations, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Suastra, M.Pd in his office, Thursday (18/2/2021).
The submission was carried out by the Marketing Manager of PT. Publisher Erlangga Bali Branch, Hendro Suryo Putro. On the sidelines of the event, he revealed that this scholarship was the first time it had been distributed to Undiksha. “We have often provided scholarship assistance for tertiary institutions. For Undiksha this is the first time. We provide scholarships for 10 students for 4 years. Each person will be given IDR 15 million per year,” he said.
The distribution of this scholarship was appreciated by Prof. Literature. This program is considered very helpful for students, especially during the Covid-19 Pandemic which triggered economic changes. “This scholarship is a form of concern for education. Concern for Undiksha and younger students who really need it during this pandemic,” he said.
He emphasized that this scholarship is prioritized for students who are economically disadvantaged. Suastra also emphasized that a selection would be held for recipients and conveyed to all faculties. “For the selection process, we will convey it to all faculties. And the prospective recipients will be selected according to the required criteria. However, in this case, students with poor economic conditions are prioritized,” he said.
This academic who once served as the Director of the Undiksha Postgraduate Program admitted that this scholarship was very useful for the benefit of improving the quality of human resources at Undiksha. “I hope that the students who receive this assistance will not experience problems in terms of the economy and can study well to develop their potential,” he concluded.
