Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) took part in a coordination meeting to accelerate the implementation of ministry/agency spending in 2020 which took place online, Friday (24/7/2020).
This meeting was chaired by the Secretary General of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture, Ainun Na’im. He encouraged each State University (PTN) to be able to optimize institutional spending to accelerate budget realization. This continues to prioritize the principle of decency and accountability for the entire mechanism, especially those that refer to the acceleration of the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. On the other hand, the Head of the Planning Bureau of the Ministry of Education and Culture, M. Samsuri Roren, stated that budget revisions and program refocusing related to spending on Covid-19, it must be really guarded and there are no problems.
Undiksha Deputy Chancellor for Planning, Finance, Administration and Human Resources, Prof. Dr. I Wayan Lasmawan, M.Pd representing the Chancellor said Undiksha was ready to translate policies issued by the center. Presented that until now Undiksha has not had any significant problems in the field of budget management. Only the absorption capacity in the field of physical development is still small, due to the ongoing tender process. “However, Undiksha is still taking steps to respond to these directives,” he said.
This step, explained Lasmawan, is to refocus programs and budget allocations, especially on travel posts and operational spending such as consumption, diverting them to the Internet quota assistance program for students, and digital-based KKN and PPK financing. In addition, there are also adjustments to several programs and activities that cannot be carried out, such as overseas and domestic trips and workshops, which are diverted and used to strengthen higher education clustering and the Student Ranking Information System.
In an effort to maintain program accountability and transparency, this largest state university in North Bali also involves elements of the prosecutor’s office and the police in realizing capital expenditures. “Of course, we have coordinated this with PPK, General Affairs and Finance Bureau, Supervisory Board, SPI, and users within Undiksha,” he explained.
It is hoped that this strategic step that will be rolled out will receive support from the faculty and postgraduates to immediately realize the activities that have been planned, while still prioritizing performance improvement and institutional clustering which are part of making Undiksha superior. In this regard, the duties and functions of the SPI as an internal institutional supervisory unit, especially regarding programs and activities related to the acceleration of the handling of the Covid 19 pandemic, are also being pushed to the maximum. “So that Undiksha’s participation in achieving the national development priority scale can be achieved optimally,” said the academic born in Bonyoh Village, Bangli Regency.
Apart from these steps, he continued, Undiksha is also coordinating and collaborating with various parties, especially the district and provincial governments in order to strengthen and complete educational infrastructure towards realizing superior universities and accelerating national economic improvement by the campus world. “We hope that the strategies and ongoing efforts will achieve the goals expected by the Chancellor and the Undiksha community,” he concluded.
