Singaraja- New students at the Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) who took part in the 2021 Introduction to Campus Life activities were given a variety of materials to support their readiness for higher education. One is the mental revolution movement with Dr. Aqua Dwipayana, a national communication expert and motivator. This material was delivered virtually in front of 3,313 students, Friday (13/4/2021).
Moderated by Ida Ayu Dewi Istri Utami, S.Pd., M.Pd, Undiksha English Education Study Program lecturer, Dr. Aqua conveyed that the mental revolution is a movement to galvanize Indonesian people to become new human beings who are white-hearted, steel-willed, passionate about eagles, and have a fiery soul. In everyday life, the practice of mental revolution is to become a human being with integrity, willing to work hard and have a spirit of mutual cooperation. This is one way to become a successful human being, a creative and innovative human being. “Youth need to carry out a mental revolution, especially on campus. Let’s change,” he said.
According to him, there are five mental revitalization movements that can be carried out by new students, namely the clean Indonesian movement, the serving Indonesian movement, the orderly Indonesian movement, the independent Indonesian movement, and the united Indonesian movement. This needs to be supported by commitment, consistency, and credibility.
On this occasion, the alumni of Padjadjaran University, Bandung also said that communication is one of the determining factors for success in the process of mental revolution. The communication in question is effective communication. He gave an example, of this communication can be implemented in online learning. There are five tips given to build it, namely having to adjust to the character of the lecturer in taking online lectures, using a two-way communication pattern, being active and intelligent in online lectures, respecting each lecturer who teaches in a way that is different for each teaching, using a different language. good at asking questions, and paying attention to non-verbal communication, “he explained.
The former journalist invites students to continue learning to be smart and communicative. In addition, students are also expected to be able to maintain the good name of the university and be able to show achievements and always try to add insight. This can later lead to entry into a good environment, in the context of work and the community environment, beating the GPA achieved in lectures. “GPA will not be taken away. Those who were taken to death were “processed” to get the GPA,” he said.
