Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) received a dozen students from China. The students took a regular education program in the S3 Education Science Study Program. Campus life introduction orientation was held on Saturday (24/9/2022).
The event, which took place online, was opened by Undiksha’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I. He, who represented the Rector, said that Undiksha strives to increase the number of students from abroad for undergraduate, master, and doctoral education levels. This is a form of implementation of the internationalization at-home program launched by the Rector of Undiksha in 2019. In addition, it is also an effort to realize Undiksha as a trendsetter and university of international reputation and realize the vision of “Becoming an Excellent University Based on the Tri Hita Karana Philosophy in Asia in 2045”.
Departing from this, his party gave appreciation for the trust of 15 students from China who had chosen Undiksha as the destination for doctoral education. “Hopefully with the presence of these students, it will further make Undiksha a learning house for the international community,” he said.
Further conveyed, Undiksha is committed to providing students with the best knowledge, competence, skills, and experience in the lecture process. For this reason, various aspects are of concern, ranging from educators or lecturers who are competent in their fields and infrastructure. “We continue to improve to face future competition,” said Rasben Dantes.
Throughout 2022, Undiksha has received 100 overseas students from participating in various programs. This number is expected to continue to increase. Undiksha has made various efforts, from applying for international accreditation for 21 study programs consisting of five clusters to establishing the BIPA program and the other programs. “We hope that in the future, there will be an increase in the number of students from abroad,” added the Vice Rector from Badung Regency.
Meanwhile, Undiksha Postgraduate Director, Prof. Dr. I Gusti Putu Suharta, M.Si., said that the acceptance of students from abroad was the first time for the S3 Education Science study program. “Before the lecture, we provide orientation with the aim that students know about Undiksha and the study program,” he said.
He also hopes that these students can complete their studies on time and become adaptive, collaborative, skilled, and inspiring graduates. “The maximum study period for S3 is six years and one-year extension. But we hope it can be completed in three years according to the normal time,” he concluded. (hms)
