Singaraja- Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha) held the acceptance and release of Independent Student Exchange or Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM) students at the Gde Manik Arts Building, Singaraja City, Monday (3/10/2022). Through this moment, students from various regions and ethnicities, religions, races, and intergroup (called SARA) are invited to always build diversity.
The event was attended by Undiksha’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Cooperation, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.T.I, accompanied by several Deans, Deputy Deans, and lecturers who teach the archipelago module courses. On this occasion, Rasben Dantes, who represented the Chancellor, said that this PMM is one of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeks Learning policy programs. Students are allowed for one semester to study at other universities by taking courses per the competencies taken at their home campus or those that support their main competencies.
Through this program, students are not only expected to gain academic experience from the lecturers. More than that, they can also learn about Indonesia’s wealth, consisting of various ethnic groups. This is accommodated in the archipelago module course. “So we hope that through this PMM students can knit diversity, can collaborate, then interact with the community in Undiksha,” said Rasben Dantes.
For information, this PMM program is the second time implemented by Undiksha. The university in the North Bali stretch received as many as 332 students from various universities in Indonesia. Based on the impression of several students, through this program, they can learn about the region’s uniqueness and build social interaction and tolerance. In addition to receiving, Undiksha also released 29 students to join PMM on other campuses. (hms)
