Singaraja- Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) continues to make efforts to improve the quality of public services, one of which is the validation of diplomas. As an accelerated step, as of November 1, it will be carried out online. This was discussed with the Deputy Dean I of the Faculty and the related technical team, Tuesday (22/10/2019).
Deputy Chancellor I Undiksha, Dr. Gede Rasben Dantes, S.T., M.TI explained that the validation of diplomas with this system was in accordance with the Rector’s directions. Undiksha must be able to provide the best service for all stakeholders, including alumni. “We want to provide excellent service for alumni,” he explained.
The application of this online system is also at the same time anticipating long queues for approval of diplomas to fulfill registration documents for the selection of Candidates for Civil Servants (CPNS) which roll out every year, both for local governments and other agencies. “Because in the near future, there will be quite a lot of CPNS recruitment. Therefore, for alumni, starting November 1, we will no longer serve manual validation of diplomas or transcripts or other related matters,” he said.
Regarding technical issues, he continued, alumni no longer need to come to the Undiksha Integrated Service Unit. However, it is enough to upload the diploma file through the system and then validate it by the team at Undiksha internally. The payment is through banking with the briva code, just like the Single Tuition Fee (UKT) payment. This will also be able to realize transparency from a better financial perspective. “Finally, students don’t even need to come here to take them. It’s just a request for delivery by post or something,” he said.
In this service, the faculty is given a minimum standard, validation must be completed within 2 x 24 hours. After that, the document must have returned to the Integrated Service Unit. “I see there are faculties that once have to sign. To speed things up, maybe as a solution, you can scan the signature and its legality using a wet stamp. But this must be approved at a leadership meeting. This process will lead to service efficiency,” added Rasben Dantes. In addition, Undiksha has also implemented a plagiarism checking system and Undiksha repository which is a mandatory requirement for graduates starting in the November 2019 period to upload their final assignments.
