Singaraja- Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) Undiksha carried out a Tirta yatra (a visit to a holy place for praying) to Medang Kemulan Temple in Wringinanom, Gresik, East Java, Friday (4/3/2023). This activity is a form of implementation of the concept of parhyangan, one part of Tri Hita Karana.
The tirta yatra was led directly by the Chairperson of Undiksha DWP, Tien Sumartini Jampel. She was accompanied by several administrators and members. Arriving at Medang Kemulan temple, the atmosphere was tranquil and peaceful. Before offering bhakti, pamedek (people who are coming) were given a spiritual sirama by Romo Sepuh Satya Bhuwana Medang Kemulan and Romo Sepuh Istri Satya Bhuwana Medang Kemulan. Various enlightenments were obtained, starting from the obligation as a human being who must respect ancestors and always pray, ethics in carrying out prayers, invitations to always do good karma, and being invited to always be proud to be a Hindu.
This spiritual direction was welcomed enthusiastically and solemnly by the pamedek, even in some moments causing the emotion. In this temple, pamedek are also melukat (a ritual to purify our body, mind, and soul from negative emotions) symbolizes self-cleansing. Before praying, pamedek also performed the Rejang Renteng dance. The atmosphere of prayer was solemn and silent, bringing the mind into a peaceful space.
Chairperson of DWP Undiksha, Tien Sumartini, stated that this prayer was a form of implementation of Tri Hita Karana in terms of parahyangan, namely maintaining good relations with God and in terms of pawongan, establishing good relations with others. She admitted that she was pleased to be able to offer devotion at one of the temples outside Bali with members. The spiritual inspiration obtained is also helpful for DWP members and is expected always to be a foothold in life. She hopes that in the future, she can come to this temple again. (hms)
