The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) in collaboration with SEAMEO Regional Centers, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education held the 3rd SEA CREATIVE CAMP “Future Careers for Youths: Integration with Entrepreneurship” in September 2018 – January 2019.
The competition has 12 fields, including 1) Fashion Design; 2) Waste Recycling; 3) Healthy Canteen; 4) Tourism Promotion; 5) Urban Agriculture; 6) Augmented Reality; 7) Game Development; 8) Applied Robotics; 9) Internet of Things; 10) 3D Printing; 11) Smart School; and 12) Virtual Reality. The participants were students and teachers from various vocational schools, TVET, and tertiary institutions from 11 Southeast Asian countries.
D3 Informatics Management Study Program, Informatics Engineering Department, Engineering and Vocational Faculty representing Undiksha Singaraja sent 3 teams to take part in the competition with two themes, namely Tourism Promotion and Virtual Reality. However, only one team managed to qualify for the final and win 1st Winner in the field of Tourism Promotion, which was registered by 62 teams from schools and campuses in the Southeast Asia region.
The Ganesha Buleleng (Gasbull) team, which won 1st place, consists of Putu Juniarta Eka Saputra, Dewa Kadek Edwin Sanciko, Ni Kadek Mesi Damayanti with supervisor Agus Aan Jiwa Permana, S.Kom., M.Cs developing a project SINGARAJA CITY TOUR packaged in a video that lasts (5:32).
This video, which can be accessed online on YouTube by typing the keyword “Ganesha Buleleng (GASBULL) -SINGARAJA CITY TOUR Tourism Promotion SEAMEO” tells the history of the development of the city of Singaraja through relics from the Buleleng Kingdom era led by Ki Barak Panji Sakti, the Dutch colonial period, until during the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence. Apart from being a base for education in Bali, Singaraja City also has the potential to be used as a tourist destination to attract domestic and foreign tourists to visit North Bali. So, this matter should receive special attention from the Buleleng district government which can collaborate with Undiksha to develop a tourist attraction in the city. There are many historical relics such as Puri Sukasada, Puri Buleleng, Desan Panji, Buleleng Harbor during the royal period, the Regent’s Office (Ex. Dutch Administrative Office), the Official House of the Governor of Lesser Sunda (Mr. I Ketut Pudja) who has been awarded the title of national hero to be able to package into a tour packageSingaraja City Tour.
